Instagram is testing a new feature that will allow users to reset their Instagram algorithm.
This feature is designed to give users more control over the content they see on their feed, Explore page, and Reels tab
Once the feature is rolled out, users will be able to reset their recommendations by going to their settings and selecting the "Reset Suggested Content" option.
This will clear out all of the user's previous interactions with the algorithm, such as likes, comments, and follows.
The algorithm will then start fresh, and the user will see content that is more relevant to their current interests.
This feature is still in testing, but it is expected to be rolled out to all users in the near future.
How to reset the Instagram algorithm
- Open Instagram: Launch the app on your device.
- Access Settings: Tap the three-dash menu on your profile page.
- Navigate to Content Preferences: Scroll down and select Content Preferences.
- Select Reset Suggested Content: Locate the feature and tap on it.
- Review the Explanation: Read the on-screen details about what the reset involves.
- Confirm Reset: Tap Reset to proceed. Once the algorithm is reset, Instagram treats your account as new, displaying generalised content until you interact with posts to guide the algorithm again.
